Hurricane Dorian Relief

September 6, 2019

TO:            Members of the C.M.E. Church

FROM:      The Emergency Relief Committee

SUBJECT:  Hurricane Dorian

Over the last few days we have watched intently to see what would be the impact of Hurricane Dorian on the United States. At this point, however, it appears that Dorian spared major wrath upon the coast of the United States, but as we have seen over the news, its’ impact was greatly felt in the Bahamas. The devastation there in terms of property loss, lives lost, etc., has left many of the people grieved and in great need. Although it will take some time for them to repair structural damages and to return to a sense of normalcy, the need now seems to be supplies, health care and everyday maintenance. With this in mind, the Emergency Relief Committee is requesting members of the C.M.E. Church to receive a generous offering to help those in need. As always, we ask that you would follow the usual process of forwarding your checks (payable to the Department of Finance) to your Episcopal Leader who will record the offering and forward it to the Department of Finance. It is through your generous gifts that we, the C.M.E. Church, continue to assist those in need. As always, your promptness and generosity are appreciated.

In His Service,

Bishop Sylvester Williams, Sr.

Chairman, Committee on Emergency Relief
