The Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and CVS Health will launch its Health Awareness and Caregiver Health Partnership on October 5, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Rock of Ages CME Church 478 Scott Street, Memphis, TN 38112; and October 12, 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Collins Chapel CME Church, 678 Washington Street, Memphis, TN 38105.

The first inaugural faith and corporate partnership of its kind in the nation, will bring together congregations, community organizations and health professionals at CVS Health to provide a full day of Health Education Workshops, Screenings, Vaccinations, and Caregiver Health information. This highly respected alliance of faith, community and business leaders will come together to show their mutual support and shared purpose by offering programs and services that care for the communities where individuals and families live, work and worship. This partnership is changing lives by investing in the health and wellness of people in the communities they serve.

The partnership is designed to improve the health care outcomes, including caregiver health within congregations and communities throughout the 1st Episcopal District. The launch is taking place in the 1st Episcopal District in West Tennessee as listed below. The health component of the partnership consists of health fairs and seminars, workshops, flu clinics, and other health promotion services. The caregiver health component offers caregiver support to those caring for the sick and elderly. All programs and services are available to both laity and clergy. Together, they are seeking to serve the youth, young adults, people with disabilities, mature workers, caregivers, and military families.

The CME Church has more than 1.2 million members across the United States, and has missions and sister churches in Haiti, Jamaica and fourteen African nations. There are eleven Episcopal Districts. There are four CME related colleges, Lane College (Jackson, TN), Miles College (Birmingham, AL), Paine College (Augusta, GA) and Texas College (Tyler, TX). There is additionally a CME sponsored seminary, Phillips School of Theology, which is an affiliate member of the Interdenominational Theological Center (Atlanta, GA).The Christian Methodist Episcopal Church is under the leadership of Senior Bishop Lawrence Reddick and the College of Bishops.
