Dear CME Family,

The message below was drafted by the Poor Peoples Campaign and has been presented to you in the hope that as many of us as possible would become a part of this prophetic movement.    – Senior Bishop Lawrence Reddick

The Christian Methodist Episcopal Church has been invited to join thousands of poor people and moral witnesses on June 20, 2020 for the Mass Poor People’s Assembly and Moral March on Washington! This is an opportunity to come together as a powerful movement to confront oppression and change the moral narrative. On June 20, 2020, we can rise together!

On December 4, 1967, Martin Luther King Jr. announced the launch of the original #PoorPeoplesCampaign – a mighty vision for the redistribution of political and economic power in this country. Today, we take up that work by building a movement that will make its voice heard at the Poor People’s Assembly and Moral March on Washington on June 20, 2020. Can we count on you to join us?

The #PoorPeoplesCampaign is building up a powerful, multi-racial, intergenerational, nonviolent army, to knock down the walls of injustice! Join us on June 20, 2020 for the Mass Poor People’s Assembly and Moral March on Washington!

It is the goal of the Mass Poor People’s Assembly and Moral March on Washington to bring thousands of poor and low-income people of every color, creed, gender, age, and sexual orientation together to challenge systemic racism, poverty, ecological devastation, militarism/the war economy, and the distorted moral narrative of religious nationalism!

Registration is now open for the #PoorPeoplesCampaign. Register here: https://www.poorpeoplescampaign.org/ .

We hope that you participate in this movement on June 20, 2020.
