|Dear CME Family, |
We write to inform our connectional members that Zoom applications must be upgraded to version 5.0 by May 30 to ensure users have a uniform and safer experience. Zoom has made several improvements to the overall security of the video conferencing platform over the past few weeks. Zoom is now asking users to make sure their Zoom applications used on smartphones or desktops are updated to the latest version 5.0 before May 30. You will not be able to use the application beginning on June 1 if you do not upgrade to version 5.0!
Zoom 5.0 was an important release for the video chatting platform and was introduced in April as part of the company’s 90-day security enhancement plan. It includes a stronger encryption standard to further ensure that the content you share on Zoom cannot be intercepted by people outside your meeting. It also intends to protect users against actions like Zoombombing.
You can upgrade to Zoom 5.0 by following the steps below.
How do I upgrade to Zoom 5.0?
Updating is simple—if you don’t have the app you can download the latest version.
If you already have the Zoom desktop client installed, you can check for updates by signing in, clicking your profile picture, and then clicking “Check for Updates.”
Free Basic Zoom accounts are still available for CME churches and members under the CME plan here (all applications will be verified). https://form.jotform.com/201245682003141
Your prompt attention to updating Zoom is appreciated.
In the Service of the Lord,
Dr. Theresa Duhart, President
Mrs. Sharon Doss, Vice President
