[In Observance of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday]

Leader:       We give you Praise, Honor, and Glory, O Lord for the life and ministry of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., your servant and crusader for freedom, justice and equality for this nation and world.

People:      We give you thanks and praise for the life and legacy of a great freedom fighter, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Leader:       We thank you O Lord for all of our CME Leaders who marched and worked with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to achieve justice in the land.

People:      We give you thanks and praise for the life and legacy of a great freedom fighter, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Leader:       We give you thanks for the dream that all of God’s children Black, Brown, Red, Yellow and White will have unity and love throughout the land.

People:      We give you thanks and praise for the life and legacy of a great freedom fighter, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Leader:       We are proud of our CME Bishops, Pastors and Laity who worked with Dr. King to eradicate segregation and injustice in our nation.

People:      We give you thanks and praise for the life and legacy of a great freedom fighter, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Leader:       We thank you for Dr. King’s message of non-violence with love helped to bring down the walls of segregation throughout the nation.

People:      We give you thanks and praise for the life and legacy of a great freedom fighter, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Leader:       We praise Thee O God that Dr. King reminded the entire nation that we should do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with our God.

People:      We give you thanks and praise for the life and legacy of a great freedom fighter, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Leader:       As we go through this Pandemic, Dr. King’s words echo in our hearts and mind, “we have some difficult days ahead but if we pray and keep the faith, we shall reach the Promised Land together”.

People:      We give you thanks and praise for the life and legacy of a great freedom fighter, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

 

Leader:      Now let us in the spirit of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. unite with the new elected leadership, here in America, to bring about the positive changes needed in our nation and world.

 

All:             We give God Praise, Honor and Glory for the gift of his prophet and preacher, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who helped us identify the three great evils of human kind; Racism, Poverty and War.

So now let us, the people of God, carry out the creed to become one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.
