CME CED Church School VIRTUAL Lesson
Available for 4/3/2022
|
We are pleased to share with you the success of last week’s Virtual Sunday School as published by the CME Department of Christian Education & Formation. The CME CED Church School YouTube Channel Videos have been viewed over 17,000 times since we created the YouTube Channel on March 20, 2020. As committed, we offer to you this week’s Virtual Sunday School Lesson, “A Leader With Humility” with Dr. Carmichael D. Crutchfield as its instructor. We also welcome Rev. Samuel McKinsey, pastor of Pine Hill CME Church of the Louisiana Region, who offers us our prayer. We also welcome Dr. Caroyl F. Townsend, Board of Christian Education and Formation Director of the Louisiana Region. The video includes music, scripture, lecture, challenge, and application. It may be utilized in concert with your existing Sunday School or in substitution given the personal distancing parameters we are experiencing. For example, this video might be viewed by members in your congregations with a conference call held during the regular Sunday School period to offer facilitated discussion and review. There are CME Certified Christian Educators across the Episcopal Districts ready to offer assistance and creative solutions in concert with what we have done and are doing. Even during this crisis, we must be concerned about the spiritual needs of our congregations in addition to their physical and health needs. We welcome your feedback as we seek to expand the resources from the Department of Christian Education & Formation.

Do you have an exceptional young person who is dedicated to their church, school and community? Does your youth leader go beyond the call of duty for the young people? We have created a space to honor them.
The Connectional Youth Ministry is pleased to announce CYM Salutes, a program distinguishing outstanding individuals in the area of Youth Ministry within the CME Church who are making a difference. The Youth of the Month and Youth Leader of the Month program will recognize individuals who demonstrate exemplary characteristics both in church and within the community.
For more information, visit www.cmecym.org/cymsalutes or contact Rev. Cyreeta Collins at RevCeCe@thecmechurch.org

Commission on Social Justice and Human Concerns
March 29, 2022
Statement of Support for the Confirmation of
Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to United States Supreme Court
The members of the Commission on Social Justice and Human Concerns expresses deep appreciation and gratitude to President Joe Biden and his administration for keeping his campaign promise to nominate an African American woman to become an Associate Justice on the United States Supreme Court. Whereas, he and his team had countless numbers of able and qualified African American women to choose from. We believe by God’s grace his selection of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is the right choice at this time. View the entire Statement of Support here.

#BlackChurches4Broadband Encourages Families to Sign up for Emergency Broadband (Internet) Benefit
Our hero, the late Congressman John Lewis, said that internet access is “the civil rights issue of the 21st Century.” A high-speed home broadband (internet) connection is vital for full enfranchisement in today’s world. It opens the door to educational and economic opportunities, connects family and church communities, allows access to remote health care services, and empowers greater civic engagement and activism.
Congress recently created an Emergency Broadband Benefit giving eligible families up to $50 per month to pay for home broadband service. You may be eligible for the Emergency Broadband Benefit if your household has experienced a sudden loss of income during the pandemic, or is currently receiving federal benefits such as SNAP, Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Federal Public Housing Assistance, Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit, Lifeline, Pell Grants, or free and reduced-price school lunches.
Visit blackchurches4broadband.org to learn more about eligibility and how to sign up.
