CME CED Church School VIRTUAL Lesson
Available for 5/1/2022
|
We are pleased to share with you the success of last week’s Virtual Sunday School as published by the CME Department of Christian Education & Formation. The CME CED Church School YouTube Channel Videos have been viewed over 17,000 times since we created the YouTube Channel on March 20, 2020. As committed, we offer to you this week’s Virtual Sunday School Lesson, “Freed From The Past” with Dr. Carmichael D. Crutchfield as its instructor. We welcome Emma Reagor, the Director of Christian Education and Formation of Christ Temple CME Church in Tulsa, OK, who offers us our prayer. We also welcome Carmen Galbreath, the Youth Vice President of St. John CME Church in Spencer, OK, who offers us our scripture reading. The video includes music, scripture, lecture, challenge, and application. It may be utilized in concert with your existing Sunday School or in substitution given the personal distancing parameters we are experiencing. For example, this video might be viewed by members in your congregations with a conference call held during the regular Sunday School period to offer facilitated discussion and review. There are CME Certified Christian Educators across the Episcopal Districts ready to offer assistance and creative solutions in concert with what we have done and are doing. Even during this crisis, we must be concerned about the spiritual needs of our congregations in addition to their physical and health needs. We welcome your feedback as we seek to expand the resources from the Department of Christian Education & Formation.
Feel free to forward this email to anyone in your Sunday School circle. They may subscribe directly to this announcement by sending an email to sundayschool@thecmechurchced.org.

#BlackChurches4Broadband Encourages Families to Sign up for Emergency Broadband (Internet) Benefit
Our hero, the late Congressman John Lewis, said that internet access is “the civil rights issue of the 21st Century.” A high-speed home broadband (internet) connection is vital for full enfranchisement in today’s world. It opens the door to educational and economic opportunities, connects family and church communities, allows access to remote health care services, and empowers greater civic engagement and activism.
Congress recently created an Emergency Broadband Benefit giving eligible families up to $50 per month to pay for home broadband service. You may be eligible for the Emergency Broadband Benefit if your household has experienced a sudden loss of income during the pandemic, or is currently receiving federal benefits such as SNAP, Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Federal Public Housing Assistance, Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit, Lifeline, Pell Grants, or free and reduced-price school lunches.
Visit blackchurches4broadband.org to learn more about eligibility and how to sign up.
