As I prepare to retire as the current the General Secretary of the Department of Lay Ministry of the Christian Methodist Church, I pray that the Joy of the Lord continues to abound in your lives!
It has been my joy and my pleasure, for the past twelve years, to serve as Chief Lay Leader for the church that I love and grew up in. It almost seems like yesterday that I was penning a campaign communication to the laity prior to the 2010 General Conference, in which I was elected, that I urged delegates to go with a commitment to serve and with their eyes wide open. While I am no longer campaigning, I urge you to do the same during the 39th Quadrennial Session and the 40th General Conference convening in Cincinnati, Ohio! Please be safe, seek Jesus Joy at all times, persist in being faithful in prayer, and remain diligent in the quest to live out the Great Commission and make it come alive. Remember our Mission of “Reaching, Teaching, and Ministering to All Generations, Equipping Them for Greater Works and Service For Him.”
As I Go, I continue to give thanks for the Loyal Laity, Pastors, Presiding Elders, and Episcopal Leaders of the CME Church. . .
