New!

Dear Servant Leaders of our Faith,

You are invited to join us at the National Action Network 2025 Ministers' Luncheon, Friday, April 4, 2025, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the Sheraton New York Times Hotel as a part of the 2025 NAN National Convention. This is a FREE event.

The Ministers' luncheon celebrates the role of the Black church in the civil rights struggle and honors the legacy of an extraordinary and courageous leader who brought genius and a powerful prophetic voice in the cause of freedom. The Ministers' Luncheon honors the Reverend Dr. William Augustus Jones, Jr., the late pastor of the Bethany Baptist Church of Brooklyn, New York, who was an integral part of the heritage of this struggle which ushered in a new era of racial dignity in America. In our eighth year, we continue to build a legacy of honorees.

Presiding Bishop Charley Hames, Jr. of the Ninth Episcopal District and Chair of the Social Justice and Human Commission of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church will be honored at this Luncheon! Don't miss out on this opportunity as we honor members of the clergy who are fulfilling Dr. Martin Luther King's Dream!

GET CONNECTED CAMPAIGN

Greetings, Brothers, and Sisters in Christ,

Some 10 million rural African Americans lack broadband internet, primarily in the South. They cannot use such essential services as online doctor visits, church services, school assignments, family connections, and voter registration. Thankfully, the Federal Communications Commission launched the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), providing nearly 18 million low-income households nationwide with resources to pay for necessary broadband service. The ACP offers eligible families a $30 monthly discount on high-speed internet services, making access free for many participants.

Here's what you can do:

1 - Forward to pastors in your network serving rural communities the "Get Connect" Information card below with a contact number and website for guidance through signing up for the ACP program.

To Apply Call 1 (877) 384-2575 or Visit www.GetInternet.gov/apply.

2. Encourage them to visit - https://www.skinnerleaders.org/getconnected to download the "Get Connected Toolkit."

The South African Region Annual Conference presided over by the Presiding Prelate, Bishop K. Lawson Adjei adjourned on March 16th, 2025 with an ordination thanksgiving service. In attendance were the members of the Host Church - Samaria CME Church, local chiefs and opinion leaders of the community, and a distinguished CME who has transferred his membership from the 6th Episcopal District in America to the 11th Episcopal District, Rev. Miracle Bass etc. Bishop on 1st day of the conference opened the session with teachings on the CME polity and structure. Reports were also received from the Mission Supervisor, Rev. Bhekindaba Sibisi Herbert and Missionary President. Bishop celebrated the Holy Communion on 1st day of the conference with the delegates. The Communion Sermon was preached by Rev. Miracle Bass. His theme was "What The Lord Has Done For Me" The ordination and thanksgiving service was attended by members and Pastors from Methodist, Presbyterian and other Chrismatic and Pentecostal churches. Bishop preached the sermon on the theme "The Year of The Lord's Visit " with text rooted from Luke 1:68. Rev. Lady Mercy Adjei sang to the admiration of the audience. Pastor Bhekindaba H. Sibisi was ordained by Bishop Adjei and appointed as the Mission Supervisor for the South African Region. He is to be assisted by Rev. Miracle Bass who has also been appointed to start a CME Church in Johannesburg. Gifts were presented to Bishop and 1st Lady Mercy Adjei. Indeed, it was a colorful thanksgiving service rich in South African culture and local songs which we enjoyed. Notably, the CME Church which was discontinued in South Africa has now been replanted by Bishop Adjei in the Land of KwaZulu-Natal province. Who else could have done this? Only the Almighty God. To Him alone be the glory. Photos and caption courtesy of Bishop K. Lawson Adjei.
