Meet Shannon Faulk
Shannon Faulk is a visionary leader known for his entrepreneurial spirit, community service, and unwavering commitment to making a difference.
As the owner of Shannon Faulk Farmers Insurance Service, he provides industry-leading insurance and financial services to urban-based community businesses and private individuals.
Before diving into entrepreneurship, Shannon built an impressive ten-year executive sales management and development career at Pitney Bowes Corporation. Bolstered by a track record of noteworthy accomplishments, he transitioned to an internet-based company as the National Corporate Development Manager. Under his guidance, he instituted a National Sales Enterprise Division, significantly shaping the organization’s growth trajectory.
Shannon’s dedication to shaping the cultural landscape of Los Angeles is evident in his appointment to the Board of Governors and Trustees for the Los Angeles County Family of Museums in 2008. Representing the 2nd District, he oversaw several renowned institutions, including the National History Museum (NHM), La Brea Tar Pits and Museum, and the William S. Hart Museum. He was elected Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors in 2017 and President of the Board of Trustees in 2018. Shannon became the first African American to hold this esteemed position in the museum’s 113-year history and the sole African American Chairman of the Board for a Natural History and Science Museum nationwide, making him an inspirational trailblazer.
Shannon led NHMs most recent $100 million capital project, the NHM Commons, the Museum’s newest wing, which opens new doors to natural history, community co-creation, and belonging. NHM Commons will be a dynamic community hub with many new and refreshed spaces bursting with vital, enriching, and accessible experiences celebrating the intersections of science, nature, culture, heritage, and community.
He has also served as the Director for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated in the western province council overseeing the Western States, Hawaii, and the Countries of Korea and Japan. He co-founded the Young Professional Coalition, a mentorship and tutoring program that profoundly impacted the lives of countless youth in the inner-city areas of Atlanta, Georgia. Moreover, he served on the Board of the Los Angeles Alumni Chapter. 62nd Assembly Delegate at the California State Democratic Convention.
Immediate past Southern California Region Lay Leader, a member of the CME Church General Board, Connectional Strategic Planning Committee Member, District Treasure, and at this local Church Hays Tabernacle in Los Angeles, Shannon has been the Usher Board #2 President for over 15 years, sings in the Men’s Choir, served as both a Steward and Trustee
In 2022 he was elected General Secretary of Lay Ministries for the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, representing the United States, in addition to missions and sister churches in Haiti, Jamaica, and fourteen African nations.
Shannon’s exceptional leadership skills have fostered a collaborative and cohesive organizational culture. He is supported by his wife Dionne, who made history as the first African American woman elected to the Inglewood City Council, and their sons, Fitzgerald Lowell and Sebastian John Faulk.
Born and raised in Berkeley, CA, Shannon earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Francisco State University and a Master of Business Administration from Clark Atlanta University. He is a licensed Insurance Agent and the Principle Register, specializing in Life, Health, and Financial Services. He has also received several prestigious accolades, including the Pitney Bowes Toppers Club, Life Insurance Blue Vase, and Farmers Insurance Presidents Club honors, the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Robert L. Harris Province Polemarch Award, and many others in recognition of his outstanding achievements and contributions.
As a devout follower of God, Shannon unwaveringly embraces and embodies the timeless wisdom encapsulated in Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
