The Presiding Prelate of the 11th Episcopal District, Bishop K. Lawson Adjei, opened the Uganda Region Annual Conference on August 16th, 2025 at Buyanga Siditira CME Church in Busia. Earlier on August 15th, Bishop on his way to Busia visited one of the 3 newly planted churches in Kampala. The 2025 Annual Conference of Uganda Region was attended by 1st Lady Mercy Adjei, Rev. Dr. Leon Moore - General Secretary of Evangelism and Missions, Mission Supervisor Joseph W. Dungu, Presiding Elders, Pastors, Missionary Society Leaders, Youths and Young Adults Council (YAC), Lay etc.
The Annual Conference ended with the Communion worship service on August 17th, 2025, at Buyanga Siditira CME Church in Busia. Service began with the typical worship style of the people in Uganda. Bishop preached on the theme of the conference "The Year of The Lord's Visit" with text rooted from Luke 1:68. He also led the worshipers to celebrate the Holy Communion. Unfinished conference business was taken care of. Women's Missionary Society President was given $500.00 to assist the expansion of the ongoing fish farming of the group. 1st Lady Mercy assisted the department of primary education with funds for textbooks supplies. The conference also resolved to start a social fund to assist the pastors. Bishop gave a seed fund for the account to be opened in that regard. The new church visited in Kampala was presented with funds for chairs and walling. The New Life Orphanage also visited in Kampala was provided with a bag of maize. Presiding Elders were assisted with little stipends. Appointments for 2025-2026 were given after the characters of the pastors were passed by the Bishop. Conference adjourned after the closing hymn and prayer said by Rev. Dr. Leon Moore. Bishop gave the Benediction. To God alone be the glory. Photos and captions used with permission of Bishop K. Greetings, Brothers, and Sisters in Christ,
Some 10 million rural African Americans lack broadband internet, primarily in the South. They cannot use such essential services as online doctor visits, church services, school assignments, family connections, and voter registration. Thankfully, the Federal Communications Commission launched the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), providing nearly 18 million low-income households nationwide with resources to pay for necessary broadband service. The ACP offers eligible families a $30 monthly discount on high-speed internet services, making access free for many participants.
Here's what you can do:
1 - Forward to pastors in your network serving rural communities the "Get Connect" Information card below with a contact number and website for guidance through signing up for the ACP program.
To Apply Call 1 (877) 384-2575 or Visit www.GetInternet.gov/apply.
2. Encourage them to visit - https://www.skinnerleaders.org/getconnected to download the "Get Connected Toolkit."
